HollyHood Productions brought us a rough cut of Born A Stray for editorial review. The film is a vampire story, but its emotional center is deeply human. It follows a teenage orphan searching for his parents while trying to understand his purpose. Beneath that search is a quieter question of faith and how to find a way forward before you know where you belong. The material already carried the heart of the story. Our role was to bring the film’s structure, pacing, and emotional journey into clearer focus.

We led a full editorial restructuring of the feature, beginning with the central editorial opportunity of compression. By reshaping the timeline to feel closer to three days, the film gained urgency, coherence, and a stronger emotional line.

From there, scenes were reorganized, refined, and sharpened. Dialogue flow was improved in the edit, character arcs were clarified, and sequences were rebalanced to support the film’s themes of faith, identity, purpose, and belonging. Temporary sound design was used to reinforce the new rhythm and structure.

The result was a completed feature film, a trailer, and an additional pilot cut for sales and development use. We also designed the film’s title card, on-screen typography, and rolling end credits, including the title treatment for Born A Stray.

The editorial restructuring gave HollyHood Productions a refined editorial version of the film for festival and buyer consideration. Born A Stray is now being used as the production pursues those opportunities.

This project reflects the central work of The Brickhouse Company. We organize complexity by finding what the work needs in order to resolve.
